Environmentally Friendly ATMs
Welcome to the site of ATMIA's focus on managing the environmental impacts of ATMs. ATMs are comparatively low-energy users when it is taken into account how many citizens and households they serve in a given community. Indeed, the ATM represents a major reduction in the carbon footprint of distributing cash, by substituting automated self-service for bank teller distribution and spreading automated bank cash dispensing to locations beyond bank branches. The overall consumption of power by ATMs, when calculated over time, including idling times of extremely low consumption as well as during peak operation / power consumption spikes, is relatively very low. For suggestions on further managing the environmental impact of ATMs, please read the Position Paper. Position Paper Committee Work & Material Teleconference Notes Suggestion Box |
